Spring Dress Styles for your 2021 Wardrobe

It’s finally dress season and 2021 is the year we are all trying to make better than the last. Times are changing, the world feels different but we all still have one thing we can embrace, and that is the freshness that Spring brings into our lives. What better way to celebrate the season change than wearing the most beautiful, elegant, and just feel-good dresses?!

For you I have chosen 6 styles that are on trend this year for Spring and Summer, these dresses all have elements that were seen on the runway for S/S21. I know the word trend can scare off people in thinking these styles will have a small life then be out of fashion very fast but thats not the case. Year after year, we see repeated themes but with slight changes that are curated for the new styles incorporated into our ever evolving fashion world. Here are the 6 lovely styles that can’t be passed up this year:

1. Puff Sleeves

While this style may not be for everyone, it has comeback in fashion a few times since it first appeared a couple of years ago. A dress can be just a dress until you add puffy sleeves, then it changes the whole look in such a flattering way. I have seen this style on all body types, and it compliments every figure with such elegance and class. I have chosen two midi dresses from New Look via ASOS that are just amazing in both looks and quality. They are a little heavy so can be great worn on their own. This is really the dress for any occasion whether you’re celebrating a birthday or just grabbing lunch, it can be styled so easily!

2. Florals

As it was once said by the famous fashion queen herself Miranda Priestly “Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking” well it seems that florals will always be in trend every year despite its repetitiveness. This year there is a slight change with the colors being pastel and the cut being softer with a prairie girl touch. You simply cannot go wrong with a flowy dress either, they are so easy to throw on and so comfortable!

3. The Knit Dress

Knit dresses are usually quite popular during the Autumn/Winter months but this year there are a few styles out there that look perfect for Spring. The style of dresses below are a long cardigan dress and a long wrap dress both in Spring pastel colors from the UK brand Pretty Lavish. This brand has come out with some of the most gorgeous styles I have seen to date in High Street fashion. They are killing the game of High Street meets Lux, everything looks so chic, so expensive, yet so wearable. These dresses look so cool with white trainers or converse but I’ve also seen them paired with heels and they are absolutely fab! Since I am in France I have found these dresses via ASOS since shipping is much easier this way.

4. The Collared Dress

Collars in fashion have become quite prominent recently. The big Peter Pan collars have been seen throughout the different seasons last year worn with jumpers or on button down shirts. This Spring, dresses with big collars have been made to look soft and blend quite nicely with long flowy dresses. I reccomend these dresses with mules or trainers for that laid back look.

5. The Babydoll Dress

The babydoll dress is back this Spring and it is here to stay for Summer too. It is perfect for those warmer days when you want to show a little more leg but still want that flowy dress look with a little more room especially for those brunch dates with the girls. These dresses incorporate Spring florals and light tones that make for such a stylish look especially worn with strappy heals or espadrilles.

6. The Strappy Dress

This one is for late Spring/Early Summer but if you’re feeling this style earlier it can definitely be worn with a jean jacket, cardigan, or blazer over it. The simplicity of this dress style gives such a chic feel, it can be worn during a day out during a city break with white trainers or can be dressed up for a dinner with strappy heels.

Well that wraps it up for Spring 2021 dresses, I will be back with Summer dresses very soon! What are your favorite dress styles?
